Privacy Policy

Endearing is made by Friends for Humanity (“Friends for Humanity,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information Endearing processes, why, and how you can have it removed. Endearing is intended for people 13 and older. If you have questions, reach us at support@friendsforhumanity.com.

How Endearing accounts work

Endearing does not use passwords, email sign-in, or social login. Each installation creates an anonymous, device-scoped account, so the app can remember your characters, conversations, and progress without asking for who you are.

Information Endearing processes

To operate the app, we process:

• Your device identifier, used to recognize your anonymous account.
• The display name, handle, and bio you choose inside the app.
• Photos you upload and the AI imagery generated from them (avatars, morphs, and similar creations).
• Prompts, posts, replies, direct messages, story choices, and goals you enter while using Endearing’s characters and features, including the Status simulation.
• Interactions with the app (such as likes, story choices, and feature usage) and diagnostics about generation performance, used to keep the app fast and reliable.

How this information is used

We use this information to run your conversations and characters, generate the imagery and story content you ask for, keep your account and history consistent across sessions, and understand and improve how Endearing performs.

AI processing and third-party services

Generating characters, imagery, and story content requires sending the relevant prompts and content to AI infrastructure providers. Depending on configuration, Endearing may process data through Convex (application backend and data storage), OpenRouter (AI model routing), Google Vertex AI (AI model inference), Langfuse (AI request tracing and debugging, when enabled), and Serper (search queries used to find public reference material for a celebrity you choose). These providers process data on our behalf to deliver Endearing’s features.

Endearing’s Status feature is a personal AI simulation: its posts, replies, and messages are not published to other app users. Where Status uses Google Vertex AI for generation, Google receives the content included in that generation request; it does not receive access to administer your Endearing account or backend data store.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from inside the app, or by emailing us — see Delete Accountfor both options and how long each one takes. In-app deletion removes your active account data from Endearing’s backend immediately; email requests are verified by hand and targeted for completion within 30 days. We also automatically request deletion of your related Langfuse AI traces, which Langfuse typically completes within 15 minutes. Some information may still remain afterward, including records we’re required to keep for security, fraud prevention, or other legal reasons, and backups held by our service providers on their own disclosed retention schedules.

Children

Endearing is intended for use by people 13 years of age and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Endearing changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
